Czech climber Standa Hovanec ended on the 14th place on Friday at the World Cup  competition in ice climbing in Valle di Daone, Italy, in the one of two qualification groups. Another Czech Jirka Pelikán finished the 15th in the other group. Altogather 21 climbers continues from the both qualification.

Czech republic was represented there also by Libor Daniš, who finished 40th in the first group. Altogather there were on Friday (January 19 2007) 83 competitors, (43 in the 1st group, 40 in the 2nd group).

The event continues today by women qualification, men semifinals and speed competition. The finals are on Sunday.
