This year 5th annual of Festival of alpinism, Smichov, Prague is announced on November 21-23, 2008.The guests
The main program will be crated by lectures, film projections and slide shows of Czech and foreign personalities from the world of mountaineering. Among them is expected Swiss extreme climber Ueli Steck, mountaineer Valery Babanov from Canada or couple of sport climbers Roger Schäli (CH) and Christoph Hainz (ITA). As the Czech star there will be young top world class climber Adam Ondra.
There will by projection of film about first reaching of Mount Everest without oxygen by Reinhold Messner and Peter Habeler. The film is produced by Wolfgang Nairze.
Extreme ski mountaineer lady from Slovakia Ivan Filova will held another from attractive lectures similar as talking of the Czech most succesful Himalaya mountaineer Radek Jaros. From Slovakia his climbing partner Peter Hamor will come. Czech extreme bigwall climbing couples Mara Holecek - Honza Doudlebsky a Vaclav Satava – Dusan Janak. Our Nepalese partner Sherpa – Dawy Sherpy, who stand o top of three eighttausenders will held also interesting lecture. The expedition Eco-Everest 2008 would present its project.
From the other important guests there are expected e.g.: Ang Thering Sherpa from Kathmandu – president of Nepalese mountaineering association and president of AIAA (Asia association of alpinisms), Viki Grošelj – slovenian mountaineer from Lublan, whot toped 10 eighttausenders, Robert Renzler – secretary general of Austrian Alpenvereinu, Michael Larcher – the main methodical of Austrian Alpenvereinu and lot of others. There should be 98 guests from over all world.
The main foreign parner is Salzburger Land Tourismus from Austrian Hallwang which promotes of land of Salzburg.
Fair
On parallel fair the most important Czech producers of mountaineering and outdoor equipment will be presented. The mian parners of the festival are companies Schwarzkopf, HUMI Outdoor, VAVRYS, North Trappers, PRO SPORT, Base Camp, MAMMUT, HANNAH, Rock Point, Vertical Sport a HUDY sport.
Exhibiton „Prague, Stüdl and section Prague of DAV“
The another parallel action will the exhibition about history of mountaineering in Europe. On exhibition „Prague, Stüdl and section Prague of DAV“ the beginnings of alpinism in Europe will be remarked on the person of in Prague born Johann Stüdl and activities of section of Prague of DAV (German Alpenverein). Stüdl was one of the founders of European mountaineering organization.
Photo exhibition
There will be presented also Photo exhibition of large sized photographs from mountains. The exhibition is named The world of mountains, and its author is mountaineer Ladislav Novák from Prague.
Prague primator Pavel Bém, who climbed last yaer of Mount Everest will be there present too. Festival stars on Friday, November 21st at 17.30.
