World Cup lead climbing Chamonix, France: Tereza Širůčková and Arina Jurčenko advanced to semifinals

SP lezení na obtížnost Chamonix, Francie začíná dnes za účasti 5 našich @ Jan Virt / World ClimbingCzechs Tereza Širůčková and Arina Jurčenko advanced today to tomorrow’s semifinals of the World Cup lead climbing competition in Chamonix, France. Tereza qualified from 16th place, and Arina from 22nd. The rest of our national team members were eliminated in the qualifying round.

Martin Stráník finished 25th, the first competitor not to advance; Michaela Smetanová was 27th, and Jan Štípek was 59th.

The semifinals will take place tomorrow morning starting at 10:00, and the finals will follow in the evening at 8:30 pm.

World Cup lead climbing Chamonix, France: 5 Czechs start



Five Czech national team members are competing in the World Cup lead climbing competition, which begins today in Chamonix, France. They are: Martin Stráník, Arina Jurčenko, Tereza Širůčková, Michaela Smetanová, and Jan Štípek.

Qualifying takes place today, with the semifinals and finals on Sunday. In addition, speed climbing is taking place in Chamonix, though the Czech Republic is not represented in that event.
