World Cup lead climbing Chamonix, France: Tereza Širůčková finished 22nd in the semifinals, Arina Jurčenko finished 25th
Czech two semifinalists - Tereza Širůčková and Arina Jurčenko - failed today to advance to tonight’s final of the World Cup lead climbing competition in Chamonix, France. Tereza finished 22nd in the semifinals, and Arina finished 25th. The rest of our national team members were eliminated yesterday in the qualifying round. The final, held this evening then without any Czech competitors, was won by Alberto Ginés López of Spain and Annie Sanders of the United States.
In addition, speed climbing competitions were held in Chamonix as part of the World Cup, though the Czech Republic was not represented. Last night’s speed climbing events were won by Veddriq Leonardo of Indonesia and his female compatriot Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi.
