This month over 20 editors from 10 different countries gathered in Colorado and the desert of Utah to meet, climb, and discuss various issues in the climbing media community.

Hosted by the American Alpine Journal, the event was attended by the Canadian Alpine Journal, the (British) Alpine Journal; Magazines Climbing, Rock and Ice, Alpinist (all from US), Desnivel (Spain), Klettern (Germany), Mountain (Korea), Rock and Snow (Japan); and websites UKClimbing.com (UK), Mountain.ru (Russia), montanismo.org (Mexico), ExplorersWeb.com, Kairn.com (France), and of course Czechclimbing.com.

Topics of discussion ranged from the medias role in shaping style and ethics in the sport, its role in comercialization, the importance (or lack there of) of awards and competitions, the relationship between various forms of media (journals, magazines, websites, etc), information sharing, and who would win in an arm wrestling competition.

The editors also got ample opportunity to taste various forms of american traditional climbing- from summiting desert towers like Castleton and the Bridger Jacks, to sinking jams in the relentless cracks of Indian Creek.
