
Czech mountaineering union announced today the results of the contest of the best sport performance of the year 2008. The first was Adam Ondra (for climbing of route Open Air (9a+) and the other top world ascents), 2nd Marek Holecek and Jan Doudlebsky (for project of "Triple North Walls" in Asia high mountains), 3rd Tomas Mrazek (for his titel of Vice Champion of Europe in lead climbing and the overall 2nd place in lead climbing World Cup).

The nominations were suggested by heads of commissions of the Czech mountaineering union and then selected by several Czech mountaineering media, among them CzechClimbing.com.
1.Sport climbing - Adam Ondra for climbing of route Open Air (9a+) and the other top world ascents.
2.Alpinismus - Marek Holecek and Jan Doudlebsky for the project of "Triple North Walls" in Asia high mountains, especially the first ascent of "Wild Wings" vie NW face of Kapura (6544 m, Karakoram).
3.competition climbing of seniors - Tomáš Mrazek for gaining of Vice Champion of Europe in lead climbing and the overall 2nd place in lead climbing World Cup.
4.Traditional ski mountaineering - Pavel Pospisil a Marek Houbec for downhill of Whymper culoir (Augille Verte), Alps
5.competition climbing of youth - Adam Ondra for title World Champion 2008 and the over all winning of EYS 2008
6.competition ski mountaineering - Karolina Grohova for the best results in season 2007/08, especial European Cup 2008 (1st place)
7.Drytooling - the best results in World Cup UIAA. Women - Jitka Mazlova (11), Women - lead Lucie Hrozova (11). Men - speed: Jiri Pelikan (15).
