Czech mountaineer Marek Holeček got prestige award Piolet d'Or 2018 today for the first ascent of the route on Gasherbrum I (8068 m) in Pakistan, he did last year with the Czech Zdenek Hak who could not attend ceremonial because of illness.

For the first time, the Czech ascent was awarded for the existence of the award.
