Slovak mountaineering union James has granted the Ascents of the year 2006. The highest award the Golden Carabiner was given to Peter Hamor for ascent on Anapurna and to Gabriel Čmárik and Jozef Kopold for first ascent in Karakoram, Pakistan on Uli Biaho Tower (6109 m).
The Peter Hámor´s granted ascent in Himalayas Annapurna (8091 m) was by east ridge via route Loretan – Joos, in alpin styl, the summit was reached 21. 5. 2006 fater solo in the final part of the ridge.
Gabriel Čmárik and Jozef Kopold got the Golden Carabiner for the first ascent in Karakoram, Pakistan on Uli Biaho Tower (6109 m), in the north wall via route Drastissima, diff. VI/6, overall difficulty ABO, 21.–23. 6. 2006.
