Mark Inglis from New Zealand, who reached this year the top of Mount Everest with both his legs amputated, visited today Karlovy Vary (Karlsbad), Czech Republic, as the main guest of the film festival Tourfilm.
Mark Inglis spoke about his experience, projected diashow and promoted the beauties of New Zealand.

He was in Czech Republic the first time. And also he was the first time in Europe after his ascent to Everest. His Czech friends took him to visit of Czech sandstones trad area in Hruba Skala close to Turnov (100 km northern from Prague). He was sorry he could not climb, because during the ascent to Everest in May he injured his legs again and suffered some minor amputations more. Therefor he was not now able to go with prothetics. He could move only with help of the wheelchair.
  As he said me, he would like to look at the Czech sandstones when he cure him again and would be able to go without the wheelchair. Yesterday he met in Turnov with the famous Czech mountaineer Josef Rakoncaj who impressed him a lot.
