Adam Ondra and Tomas Mrazek recently added some hard sends to their diaries here on czechclimbing.com, which is nothing new. But non-czech readers may notice that they recorded them in the style of pink point (PP), prompting the question, 'What the hell is Pink Point?'
If you weren't around in the days of lycra tights and tank-tops, then you probably don't know that Pink Point is derived from Red Point and means the route was climbed free but with the quickdraws already hanging. Long forgotten and disregarded in the rest of the world, the term is still used here in czech, and it is considered as a little bit easier style. Therefore in the foreign rankings, e.g on 8a.nu, even Czech climbers like Adam Ondra and Tomas Mrazek writes RP, but in Czech rankings they still use PP, because it is still considered as different style among Czech climbers. In the ranking on the CzechClimbing.Com a climb in RP style recieves ten points more than than PP style, for example a climber gets 1000 point for 8a PP, and 1010 points for 8a RP.
