What Tomas Mrazek have to reach next weekend in Kranj (Slovenia) to win the whole World Cup 2004? Look at the variants according to the points at the ICC site.

Mrazek´s excellent 2nd place at Brno competition was deleted, because the 3 worst results will not count.
On the other hand Frenchman Alexandre Chabot improved the position in Brno, in spite of the fact he was only 3rd, because his worse result from Puurs with his 9th position was deleted.
There is counted only 6 competitions from the row of 9. Among the six the best results Mrazek has three times first place (3 x100 points) and three times 2nd place (3 x 80 points).
Chabot has four 1st places, one 3rd (65 b) and one 8th (40 b).
Mrázek can improve only if he wins. Whatever worse place will be the same, as he did not go there at all. And when he wins, he will have 4 x 100p + 2x 80 = 560 p, than Chabot can catch him, because he will have 4 x 100 + 1 x 80 + 1 x 65 = 545 p.
If  Mrázek will not win, it does not matter on which position he will end, he will have the same number of points as he has now - 540, and it will depend on the result of Chabot.
When Chabot wins, wins the whole World Cup 5 x 100p + 1 x 65 = 565 p.
When Mrázek will not win and Chabot will be the 2nd, the Frenchman reaches 4 x 100 + 1 x 80  + 1 x 65  = 545 p. And by this result he will defeat Mrazek who will have still only 540 p.
When Mrazek will not win and Chabot will be 3rd, he will have 4 x 100 + 2 x 65 = 530 p and  Mrázek wins with his 540 p.

So to Mrazek will save victory he must win. If he will not win, Chabot may not be better than 3rd. And to say all alternatives: Mrazek can involve the rankinkg whether he will be better than Chabot - I mean Mrazek 2nd, Chabot 3rd.

Tomas explained us on Saturday after the Brno competition that now his contest is mainly about the calm in the head and he does not accept ane other possibility then he goes to Kranj to win.  I hope that the arithmetic is correct ...
